    Key Role Responsibilities

    A successful candidate will be a quick learner and with an enthusiastic attitude. Day-to-day responsibilities may include:

    • Using your passion for problem solving to overcome challenges;
    • Writing, updating and maintaining code and templates;
    • Engaging in meetings to ensure estimations, elaborations and planning sessions are completed efficiently;
    • Policy compliance, test coverage and code reviews;
    • Contributing to our shared knowledge base, and provide quality and value to the products you work on;
    • Proactively identifying and lowering risks prior to negative impacts on projects.

    Role Snapshot

    We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Lotteries & Keno Customer Experience Technology Team business unit within the Lotteries Web team. Your role will develop and deliver high quality software products and services to customers, instilling a customer first culture in the organisation and drive consistency across the Technology business. You will champion agile ways of working and drive continuous improvement.

    Our Ideal Person

    • Accredited tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
    • 7+ years’ commercial experience in software engineering particularly experience in front-end technologies, Aurelia, Angular, React.
    • Expert knowledge of the full SDLC and methods such as Agile, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration.
    • Extensive understanding of the IT&T industry, as well as technology trends and related practices.
    • Demonstrated experience in agile ways of working and the ability to drive adoption within a team.
    • Secure knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems, network infrastructure and concepts and administering SQL server.
    • Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships across business and technology teams.
    • Solid understanding of relevant legislation and associated regulations.
    • Exposure to Cloud Platform, Native Cloud Patterns and approaches would be desirable

    How You Will Contribute

    • Build and deliver software solutions using contemporary approaches.
    • Troubleshoot technical problems, resolve incidents and requests within the SLAs.
    • Participate in workshops, stand ups, product demonstrations and retrospectives.
    • Identify and evaluate industry innovations, trends and offerings, act as an SME and be at the forefront of software development practices.

    Our Ideal Person

    • Accredited tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
    • 2+ years’ experience working with front end technologies including all aspects of product lifecycle and process development, delivery and support. Particularly experience in front-end technologies, Aurelia, Angular, React.
    • Proven experience working with web-based API development using Java or C# .NET.
    • Familiarity Adobe AEM, Maven, and JSP is desirable.
    • Knowledge of the full SDLC and methods such as Agile, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration.
    • Understanding of the IT&T industry, as well as technology trends and related practices.
    • Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships across business and technology teams.
    • Experience with Cloud Platforms and Native Cloud Patterns is desirable.
