Our advisory committees provide specialist support and advice to the WiT Board and make sure the organisation stays in close touch with industry trends and the specific needs of members from our science and technology streams.
There are two committees formally established under the WiT Constitution. The Chair of each committee is a Director of WiT and has a seat on the Board. They are assisted by a team of volunteers who have specific industry or sector experience, either from a research, academic, commercial or policy perspective.
- The WiT Technology Committee, formerly the ICT Committee, provides information, events and activities for members who are particularly interested in the broad spectrum of information technology and digital industries. Meet the Technology Committee.
- The WiT Sciences Committee was formed in June 2005, when more than 300 members of Queensland’s science community turned out to support the formation of a new professional group. Originally known as the Biotech Committee, and later the Life Sciences Committee, the group’s name has changed to reflect the growing depth and diversity of our science-focused membership. Meet the Sciences Committee.
These Committees are an important conduit between WiT’s Board, executive and our members. They champion WiT as an organisation, helping to drive membership growth, ensure that we provide relevant and valuable events, workshops and networking opportunities for members, and promote the interests of women in industry, policy or academia.
From time to time, WiT forms other special teams and volunteer committees to help with special projects, activities and events.
