About the role

We are looking for a Manager – Change & Release Management who will be responsible for the Change, Release and Deployment Management processes and ensuring that all governance, risk and compliance policies, and procedures are adhered to.

This role is a great opportunity to join a team that has a true focus on operational stability, and to drive for improvements to stability of our systems through the processes that you will own and managed. Reporting to the Manager – Incident & Release Management, you will:

  • Set, monitor and measure key performance indicators to ensure compliance to process across the Global Rio Tinto landscape
  • Implement and maintain strategies to encourage compliance of Change and Release Management
  • Ensure changes to the Change and Release and Deployment Management processes are updated, embedded and communicated to both Rio Tinto and our vendors globally
  • Drive proactive process improvements and ensure that our business is not adversely impacted by process change
  • Ensure clear and concise communication of changes that will impact the business to the right people across Rio Tinto
  • Ensure a forward schedule of change and a release calendar are maintained to avoid collisions and unplanned impacts across its full landscape of change
  • Governance and management of the Global and Regional CABs and RABs, along with responsibility for streamlining these groups and ensuring alignment between the Change and Release schedules
  • Maintain a relationship with project and operational teams required to implement changes and releases into the IS&T environment
About you
  • To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Sound knowledge of ITSM Change Management and Release and Deployment processes and governance
  • Sound understanding of ITSM methodologies – ITIL Experience preferred
  • A natural curiosity and passion around process and improving the way we work, with an emphasis on looking for collaborative ways to succeed within a matrixed team
  • Working with multiple stakeholders, in multiple regions / time zones

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience in working in a complex environment with multiple partners through the change & release processes
  • Sound understanding of ITSM methodologies – ITIL Expert training is desirable
