The School of Engineering and Built Environment is a newly formed school in Griffith University and builds on two decades of provision of tertiary qualifications. The School is known for its innovative and student focused teaching approaches and for its strong industry relationships. The School currently teaches over 2500 students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in several disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Design, Aviation and Architecture. Research within the School is conducted as part of the school or in a number of research Centres/ Institutes including: Cities Research Institute, Institute for Intelligent and Integrated Systems, Australian Rivers Institute, Menzies Health Institute, Queensland.
We are currently searching for a Technical Officer to provide specialist mechanical and mechatronic, laboratory and workshop support to the teaching and research programs within the School of Engineering and Built Environment at the Nathan campus. The primary focus of this role is to deliver quality technical support to staff and students within the school, build a solid rapport with key internal and external stakeholders and undertake projects assigned by the Senior Technical Officers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional and dedicated technical team. This role will mainly support Mechanical Engineering; however, it will also be required to support other disciplines when required.
This is a continuing full time position based at the Nathan campus.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a mechanical degree in an engineering field or equivalent combination of experience, education and training. The successful person will have excellent organisational and communication skills, a strong understanding of the requirements of occupational health and safety, embrace challenges and exercise trade and laboratory skills in the mechanical and mechatronic area. You will also need to have a positive attitude, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be proactive, able to pass knowledge onto others and connect with people at all levels.
HEW Level 5: $66,154 - $74,409 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $77,400 - $87,058 per annum.
