The opportunity

We currently have an exciting open term, full time opportunity at our Brisbane office for an experienced Digital Workplace Lead to maximise the effectiveness of individual employees, teams, workgroups and communities through the applications and services they use regularly. The primary function of the Digital Workplace programs is to create a work environment that ensures this goal.

Reporting to the Manager Applications Development (Business Systems) this role will further build-out the Digital Workplace to enhance the employee experience through the enablement of technologies including Office365 tools. The successful candidate will lead a cohesive and committed core team with the key objective of building a Digital Workplace that transforms the business.

Other duties will include:

  • Identify and clarify the consumer technology trends already present in the workplace and those that could be introduced. Establishing a methodology for consistent implementation services such as procurement, provisioning, deployment, training and promotion.
  • Liaise with key business stakeholders to understand requirements and processes, seek clarifications and provide advisory services when required. Facilitating working groups and the like where required.
  • Technical solution design by mapping business to technical requirements utilising SharePoint and O365 OOTB features, additional vendor products or customisations
  • Leads the development, publication and maintenance of the Digital Workplace business architecture, as well as the roadmap for its future development, that matches and supports business needs.
  • Lead the Digital Workplace team in the execution of day-to-day processes and activities, providing guidance and assistance for their development.
  • In liaison with the business, develop risk treatment plans working closely with the Security and Cloud and Infrastructure team to manage risks involved in enabling services.

The ideal candidate

To be considered as a strong candidate, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or similar)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in senior IT role, working with SharePoint and Microsoft O365 products
  • Extensive experience utilising SharePoint on premise / SharePoint Online to deliver solutions with an advanced knowledge of available SharePoint APIs and strong preference to automating tasks
  • Extensive experience in delivering technology using the Agile approach and within project governance and project frameworks
  • High level of skills and experience in the analysis of IT requirements and the design and deployment, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of IT systems
  • Skills in the formulation of strategies, plans, policies and standards relating to the provision and support of IT services mitigating operational risk
  • Strong knowledge of IT technologies, directions and issues with a focus on applications development, as-a-service methods, Cloud technologies and architectural design methods
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and inspiring people to do their best work
  • Ability to assess business requirements and determine priorities when faced with limited resources
  • Ability to solve problems in a creative, timely and commercial manner
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
