- Remuneration: $130,901 to $148,369 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $110,613 to $125,373 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading).

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Centre Development Manager - Centre for Biomedical Technologies to join School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
The Centre Development Manager will lead and have responsibility for expanding the Centre’s external engagement and activities, enhancing the Centre’s external funding applications and the delivery of administrative services, project delivery support and all operational matters. The position has operational responsibility for the Centre’s budget (including operating and discretionary budgets) and collaborates with shared services staff across the Faculty and University to execute the effective operations of the centre. The Centre Development Manager is one of a team of Managers deployed to support Centre Directors with the management of Faculty’s research centres. As the operations and business development lead within the Centre this position is required to engage on the Centre’s behalf with the relevant Schools and Faculties, Office of Research Services, Division of Resources, HR and other areas of the University as required. The position will participate in cross-functional project teams.

The School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering delivers education and research into the design, manufacture and operation of Biomedical, Chemical and Mechanical systems and processes. The School works across all scales, from nanoscale to personal devices to industrial complexes – building pilot plants to put our research into action. The School builds on the engineering principles of Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Materials Engineering to create new and emerging technologies including Biofabrication, Advanced Manufacturing and Chemical Processing. We work with partners to build new, and improve existing, systems and technologies across mechanical, medical, mining, food and beverages, oil and gas, energy, waste, sugar, and chemical engineering industries. The School’s research is well aligned with the University’s real-world positioning, through partnerships across internal and external boundaries..
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience. (Desired qualification and/or discipline knowledge in Medical Engineering or Biomedical Science)
- Demonstrated ability to build successful partnerships with external organisations including healthcare, industry, and government.
- Demonstrated ability to attract external funding to support research and/or development of biomedical technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to display initiative, critically evaluate systems and processes, and contribute new ideas to achieve ongoing improvements at a strategic and operational level.
- High level written communication skills to prepare clear and concise reports, plans and complex correspondence using a variety of digital technologies, including financial management analytical budgeting experience.
- High level ability to manage time and tasks effectively and meet a range of competing deadlines in a timely manner without compromising quality.
