Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join School of Chemistry and Physics, Faculty of Science.

The School of Chemistry and Physics is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to engage in an ARC Linkage Project entitled “Understanding production and application of alpha emitting radionuclides” in close collaboration with a leading Australian radiopharmaceutical company – AdvanCell. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be contributing to the characterisation and development of ceramic source materials used within the AdvanCell Generator, for the production of lead-212 isotopes. They will establish key structure-activity relationships between the surface microstructure of these ceramic materials and the efficiency of radioisotope generation. They will also investigate techniques for improving the properties of the surface to improve radioisotope generation. The position provides significant opportunities for growth and to pursue a career in academia or industry.

About us

QUT is a major Australian university with a global outlook and a 'real world' focus. We are an ambitious and collaborative institution that seeks to equip our students and graduates with the skills they will need in an increasingly disrupted and challenged world.

The School of Chemistry and Physics is leading teaching and research advances at the frontiers of the physical and chemical sciences to solve real-world scientific challenges. We cover a diverse range of research topics, ranging from the incredibly small (such as atoms and single molecules) to the exceptionally large (supermassive blackholes). The School conducts frontier research investigating not only the fundamental aspects of matter but also how it interacts with light, radiation or plasma, and exploits the interaction for transformative materials research that enables real-world devices and applications..
