Benefits for teams and businesses
Save time and money on recruitment
MEGT carefully recruit, select, interview and match potential cadets to the type of entry-level skills your business needs in the areas of:
- Cyber security
- Data analytics
- Cloud-computing
All you need to do is interview to see if the recommended cadet is the right fit for your team and business.
Women participating in the program are:
- Returning to the workforce from an extended break;
- From underrepresented groups such as newly arrived migrants, refugees, indigenous communities; or
- Transitioning from underemployed industries affected by Covid-19 (eg retail, hospitality)
- Career switchers.
90% of cadets in the first intake of the Cadetship Program had some form of prior learning or tertiary qualification prior to commencing the program.
A low-risk opportunity to secure skilled female talent for your business
You employ your cadet full time for 5 days per week on a casual or short-term contract during the program placement period – giving you the opportunity to see first-hand how they work alongside your team.
If they are the right fit, you are welcome to offer your cadet a permanent position or extend their employment contract at the conclusion of program.
However, no further commitment from you is required once the placement period has ended.
50 % of cadets who have completed the MEGT Digital Cadetship Program (to date) were offered extended contracts or positions at the end of their placement.
Free comprehensive support and mentoring via MEGT for participating supervisors throughout the program.
MEGT and WIT will facilitate training for all managers who will be supervising cadets in the workplace. This will empower supervisors with the skills and knowledge needed to mentor, support and manage cadets throughout the program.
Support women like Swati Manchanda to build a flourishing career in IT or Data Analytics
Young mum Swati Manchanda left the workforce for seven years to take care of her child. When she was ready to re-enter the workforce, the Digital Skills Cadetship Program was her first port of call.
Swati was interviewed and accepted into the program, and placed with enterprise software company ReadyTech.
“You’re working, you’re earning, you have more confidence when you work and earn, so that’s the best thing”, Swati said.
Within weeks, so impressed were her supervisors at enterprise software company ReadyTech that she was offered a full time, ongoing role.
“When my manager informed me about the permanent role, I was on cloud nine”, beams Swati.
