About the Role

The Digital Information Services branch delivers agile and transformative information and technology, enabling council to be a leader in providing innovative and sustainable services to its communities.

As the Technical Officer, you will provide technical support and management of Councils desktop environment to ensure a secure, stable and efficient desktop computer environment, commensurate with the needs of council combined with also providing quality customer support services across Council, identifying and resolving hardware, software, printing, connectivity, network and communication issues.

Key duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and resolve operational, hardware, software, printing and connectivity issues on the desktop and mobile phone environment.
  • Identify and resolve network and telecommunications issues.
  • Manage the installation, replacement or relocation of computers, printers, and peripherals across all departments.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of software to the desktop using packaging tools.
  • Drive innovative technology solutions; participate in the Research and Development of new technology initiatives to provide the most cost-effective systems to assist Council Business Groups meet their business needs.

This position is based at the Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. Although, part of this role’s work may be required to be performed at different Council’s buildings.

About you

As the Technical Officer, you will have extensive experience with Intune, SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, software deployment and application support.

As a professional withing the Digital & Information Services, you will have experience in O365 Administration.

You will have demonstrated experience in servicing, maintenance, and support across technology equipment such as, computer systems, Laptop and Smart phones, smart devices, networks and, printers.

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Bachelor’s degree or other relevant qualification and/or experience in an Information Technology Services environment.
