Your role as the Technical Director is a senior member of our Queensland Leadership Team and involves technical delivery, pre-sales, consulting and business development.
We seek a customer-focused self-starter with hands-on technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a can-do attitude. This position demands professionalism, technical proficiency, and exceptional client service.
You will play a crucial role:
- Provide technical leadership, oversight, guidance, mentorship, and support to practice leaders.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
- Responsible for overall technical design for both business development and delivery purposes.
- Manage technical projects from initiation through completion, including resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management.
- Actively participate and drive business development activities, writing proposals, responding to RFQs, and identifying opportunities to bring in new clients (Land) and expand our footprint inside existing clients (Expand).
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the technical teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the technical field.
Your experience
You'll be a self-starter with demonstrated experience working within the Information Technology Industry. Ideally you are already working in a consulting or professional services firm at a senior level as a Solution Architect or are ready to take the next step to Director level. You will have:
- Extensive technical design and delivery expertise: across multiple platforms and technologies, including multi-cloud applications on Azure and AWS.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Applications and Technologies.
- Hands-on experience in software/cloud solutions development: (i.e. .NET C#, Azure Integration Services, SQL & NoSQL databases, IAC (ARM, Bicep, Terraform), Node.js, and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts both in writing and verbally.
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities:
- Leadership experience across the software development life cycle.
- Proven track record of delivering using Agile and Prince 2 methodologies.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks: (TOGAF certification would be advantageous
- Desirable experience with other CRM applications (e.g., Salesforce) and Document Management solutions.
