Strategic Policy within Customer and Digital Strategy, Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG), is a multi-disciplinary team that combines contemporary thinking and practices to deliver evidence-based and forward-looking strategic policy and programs for Queensland Government.

We have multiple opportunities to join the Strategic Policy team. You will play a part in the delivery of a program of initiatives under the Queensland Digital Economy Strategy:

• Supporting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to digitise and adopt new technology.

• Making it easier for SMEs to do business with government.

• Shaping a plan to grow Queensland's digital and ICT industry.

Which role is for you?

As Senior Program Officer you will:

• Contribute to the implementation of strategies and plans of projects and ensure alignment with organisational requirements, in line with departmental project management methodologies and governance frameworks.

• Develop and/or provide input into project management artefacts such as project plans, change management and communication strategies, project schedules, benefits plans and project closure.

• Prepare timely and well researched briefing notes, submissions, presentations, reports and correspondence on complex issues pertaining to the program.

• Undertake research and analysis, to support the implementation of various initiatives and projects, including identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and service delivery.

As Principal Program Officer you will:

• Manage and/or coordinate the implementation of projects and initiatives. This includes managing communications to stakeholders at key project stages, reporting, coordinating resources, managing budgets and preparing progress reports.

• Develop project management artefacts such as project plans, change management and communications strategies, benefits realisation plans, project schedules and project closure reports.

• Monitor and report on project progress to ensure project timeframes and deliverables are on time and within scope.

• Facilitate the implementation of standard project management methodologies across all projects.

• Monitor overall risks, provide advice on remediation strategies, and implement risk management controls where appropriate.

• Develop evaluation frameworks, analyse information and data to assist in monitoring and evaluating the effects of projects and reform activities.

As Program Manager you will:

• Provide strategic and expert program management advice to plan, develop, and deliver significant project initiatives to ensure successful program outcomes.

• Lead program management reporting including the management of program budgets, schedules, and risks to agreed tolerances, ensuring deviations are identified early and escalated where required.

• Apply high level problem solving, research and analytical skills to obtain and interpret complex information and data and make recommendations to resolve issues.

• Manage resource demand and supply, and continuously improve planning, systems, and processes to maximise program and project efficiency and achieve strategic objectives.

• Interpret and apply administrative, financial and procurement frameworks and ensure alignment to departmental and government policies and procedures.

• Coordinate the preparation of presentations, briefings, reports and assess risks, operational readiness, and performance.

• Build and maintain stakeholder partnerships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure continued engagement.
