Strategic Policy within Customer and Digital Strategy, Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG), is a multi-disciplinary team that combines contemporary thinking and practices to deliver evidence-based and forward-looking strategic policy for Queensland Government.

As Manager Strategic Policy, you will lead and manage a small team to deliver high level, expert advice to senior management on a wide range of customer and digital policy issues. You will manage day to day operations with the Director, supporting work-area goal setting, and contributing to broader QGCDG priorities as required.

You will work in partnership with colleagues across the department and in other Queensland Government agencies to support the growth of Queensland's digital economy, foster digital inclusion and participation, drive digital government innovation and transformation, and enable the delivery of modern and responsive services to Queenslanders.

As Manager Strategic Policy you will:
• Lead and manage the provision of coordinated, expert and authorative advice to senior management on the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, strategies and legislative change related to the Queensland digital economy.
• Lead, deliver and manage priority government projects to meet departmental and broader government policy objectives in a timely manner.
• Prepare and/or oversee complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence for senior management.  • Lead and manage consultation and negotiations with community, business, industry and government stakeholders on complex and contentious issues.
• Build and maintain productive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues and across government, industry, and non-govenrment organisations to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on Government commitments.
• Exercise high levels of judgement, authority and influence to effectively manage competing divisional and team priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Contribute to team and divisional business planning and resource prioritisation processes.
