About the Position
The College of Science and Engineering is seeking a Lecturer in Engineering to join its talented academic staff in producing quality research and delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in one of the existing engineering disciplines.
The Lecturer in Engineering will make independent, high-quality contributions to research through activities such as publications, external grant acquisition and research student supervision. They will also develop innovative teaching materials, multi-mode teaching delivery, including face to face, online, and other innovative and contemporary teaching and learning strategies.
In this Teaching & Research (Balanced) position, additional key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, delivering and evaluating undergraduate and/or postgraduate topics/courses in engineering, through topic coordination, lectures, tutorials, laboratories and placements.
- Developing and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with a range of stakeholders.
- Focusing and contributing to supervision of research student programs.
This position is open to domestic and international candidates. Relocation and visa support is available for the successful candidate.
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of industry collaboration, teaching excellence and winning research grants within the area of engineering. As an innovative leader within teaching and research, you will strive to grow the reputation of research in engineering at Flinders University and demonstrate a student-focused approach to maximise learning outcomes.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
- Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification in engineering or related discipline(s).
- Evidence of the ability to undertake high quality teaching in a range of engineering topics in a tertiary environment, including involvement in topic coordination and design.
- Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in engineering research including evidence of quality publications.
