About the Role

The GIS Specialist will provide a key role in managing council’s spatial, CAD and specialised modelling systems. Focusing on technical services and advice in the design, implementation and maintenance of spatial and asset

related systems.

Manage council’s GIS and CAD data and systems.

Shape the future roadmap for Mapping systems for Council.

Manage the corporate spatial databases and systems to enable successful and efficient business outcomes.

Evaluate mapping systems to ensure appropriateness and integration to Council’s existing systems

Management and oversite of Vendor contracts and service agreements relating to geospatial tools.

This position is based at the Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace. Applicant must be able to work in Australia.

 

About you

As a GIS Specialist you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Systems and/or relevant industry experience.

You will possess high level understanding and experience manipulating and analysing complex spatial data and systems with ability to design and manage corporate spatial databases, including DBA tasks, patching and upgrades.

You will have demonstrated developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide professional business communication and reports, GIS consultative services and innovative problem solving.

As a requirement of this role, you will have experience in the application of ArcInfo, ArcGIS, ArcGIS server and ESRI software, with demonstrated experience in the management, of geospatial systems.
