We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Product Officer to lead our diverse product team and help drive us to new heights.

As the Chief Product Officer, you will play the pivotal role in shaping the direction and success of our software products. You will be accountable for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to execution and driving initiatives that align with our purpose.

Accountabilities include product strategy, technical operations and people leadership. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the direction of our products, inspire a high performing team and drive sustainable growth and success in line with our purpose in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

What you'll do:

Manage the overall performance of the Product Line of Business, including business leadership, product leadership and people leadership.

Business leadership

  • Manage the overall performance of the Products line of business, ensuring team delivery of commitments, sustainable financial viability, planning and achievement of agreed revenue targets, budgets, forecasts, expenses and profitability.
  • Operate as a key member of the bdna leadership team to provide strategic guidance, insights and recommendations to drive overall business success and competitive advantage.
  • Ensure appropriate line of business controls, including expenditure, resource management, product and service plans and proactive risk and issue management.
  • Ensure appropriate financial, legal, regulatory and information security reporting.
  • Contribute to effective brand and marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team within company standards.
  • Lead product business development, revenue growth and market expansion through effective collaboration with the Commercial team on sales strategies; customer acquisition and onboarding and partnership development.
  • Ensure protection and retention of bdna IP, content and data in accordance with bdna practices.

Product leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive product strategies that align with our company's vision, goals and market opportunities.
  • Lead end to end product delivery, including successful client implementations and onboarding and management
  • Build and mature the product management capability, including roadmaps, feature development, and resource allocation in line with strategic objectives and in markets requiring significant legislative customisation.
  • Nurture the development of new products and a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the highest standards of product quality, technical excellence, security and  compliance with expected standards to protect bdna and our customers from security risks, compliance concerns and data breaches.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring of terms of service, performance, capacity and customer satisfaction, leveraging industry best practices and feedback mechanisms.
  • Champion our products internally and externally, articulating their value proposition, vision and benefits to stakeholders, customers and partners.

People leadership

  • Lead and mentor a diverse and multidisciplinary team of professionals across product design, development and management.
  • Create a security aware culture which thrives on innovation, collaboration, achieving business objectives and operational excellence, empowering team members to excel and achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure team member management, including high performance retention and health, as well as compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Role model communication, accountability, responsibility and being prepared to pitch in where required.

What you’ve got:

  • Proven track record of people leadership roles, with at least five years of experience in product management and sales within the software industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of product management methodologies, agile development practices and technology trends.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross functional and high performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a results oriented mindset, capable of translating high level vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Analytical mindset with a data driven approach to decision making and problem solving.
  • Passion for technology and innovation, with a keen interest in driving product excellence and customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience

  • Experience as a leader of a product team, including people, financial and client relationship management
  • Experience taking new products to market
  • Experience in international product sales, client onboarding and support
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field.
  • Experience working with public sector organisations, particularly health and public safety would be highly desirable.
  • At least five years relevant experience

Work Eligibility

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, based in Australia (required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances e.g. NV1 security clearance
  • This role is based in Brisbane and there is an expectation you will in office regularly and according to business, team and client requirements.
