Feeling threatened blocks creativity, reduces our ability to solve problems, and makes it harder for us to communicate and collaborate with others. Explore a model that can help you to minimize perceived threats, and maximize the positive feelings generated through reward when working alongside others. Doing this can help us to collaborate better, to coach people, and provide more effective training and feedback.

In this session you will learn to:

  • Unpack and understand collaboration hurdles
  • Understand & identifying how our behaviour may unconsciously be contributing to perceived threats
  • Strategies to minimise perceived threats

#2 Anxiety Free Delegation

Wednesday 27 April, 5:30-6:30pm AEST

Delegation is a vital leadership skill. Refusing to delegate will not only overload your schedule, but employees will miss out on valuable learning and growth opportunities. But for some, delegation is difficult to put into practice.

Some of the reasons why we may shy away from delegating:

  • Thinking it would be quicker to “do it” than “explain it”
  • Wanting to feel indispensable
  • Feeling guilty for adding more work onto another person/people
  • Lacking confidence or trust in others
  • The belief that you are the only one who can do it right

In this session you will learn to:

  • Identifying barriers to delegation
  • Explore strategies around effective delegation
  • Put techniques around ensuring what is delegated is completed

#3 No Imposters Allowed

Imposter syndrome disproportionately affects people who are intelligent and capable—so paradoxically the fact that you experience it, proves that you are not an imposter.

In this session you will learn to:

  • Understand impostor syndrome
  • Recognise environmental contributors to imposter syndrome
  • Develop strategies to manage imposter syndrome

#4 Purposeful Feedback

Wednesday 15 June, 5.30-6.30pm AEST

The research is clear: improving feedback practices can significantly improve work performance and culture.

Effective feedback practices provide the bridge between performance reviews and performance. It is a cost-effective approach to enhancing performance and can easily be implemented in workplace.

#5 Exceptional Client Service

There is an estimated cost of bad customer service in Australia of $122B/annum. A study by management consultancy Bain & Company and Harvard Business School found, “Increasing customer retention rates by 5 percent increases profits by 25 to 95 percent.”  But to keep customers coming back, businesses must provide a good product and high-quality customer experience.

#6 Reclaim your Confidence

Confidence is an essential part of leadership. A leader with confidence thinks positively about the future and takes risks necessary to achieve their goals.  A leader who lacks confidence, is less likely to feel they can achieve their goals, with attitudes that are destructive to leadership and success. #7 Developing a Solid Business Case

In this session you will learn to create a structured business case that:

  • Clearly defines the opportunity you want to address
  • Identify and analyse a range of alternatives
  • Recommend one option and assess its risks
  • Create a high-level implementation plan for your proposed alternative
  • Communicate your case to key stakeholders

#8 Effective Decision Making

In this session you will learn to:

  • Create a context for making successful and ethical business decisions
  • Identify common obstacles that stand in the way
  • Assess the underlying issues related to the decision
  • Generate and evaluate multiple alternatives
  • Make a final decision
  • Communicate and implement the decision

#9 Dealing with Difficult Interactions

Wednesday 23 November, 5.30-6,30pm AEST

Learn how to manage difficult interactions more effectively, keep key employees on board, and help people who may not get along to work together productively.

In this session you will learn to:

  • Decide which types of situations are worth investing time and energy to resolve
  • Overcome barriers to action
  • Identify interpersonal differences that trigger difficult interactions
  • Productively discuss the emotions that difficult interactions can raise
  • Design solutions that satisfy your and the other party’s most important interests and concerns
  • Coach your direct reports to help them learn to resolve difficult interactions
