A virtual career mentoring program supporting Queensland women in STEMÂ
Women in Technology (WiT) is excited to launch a virtual mentoring program specifically designed to connect women from across Queensland with a strong, empowered, and inclusive community who can support them with their ongoing journeys towards personal growth and a fulfilling career within a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics field.
Mentoring provides a unique platform where both mentees and mentors benefit from engaging in meaningful self-reflection, stimulating discussion, exploring new ideas and sharing real-life insights and experiential learnings.
WiT’s 8 week virtual mentoring program combines a structured framework to help guide and shape mentoring conversations, with the added flexibility for mentees and mentors to tailor their 1-on-1 sessions to focus on discussions that directly relate to specific goals or support needs.
The program kicks off on 11 May 2023 with a compulsory half-day online workshop to help all participants jump into the program with ease.
Halfway through this program, all participants come together as a single community for an uplifting and inspiring online coffee check in to share their experiences so far, and provide guidance, feedback and support to everyone involved.
And then, before you know it, it is Week 8, and the community reunites to celebrate their successes, insights and debrief on the entire experience.
Registrations are now open. Program begins on 11 May 2023
For mentees, our virtual mentoring program is an opportunity to gain a new perspective and find clarity around the challenges, opportunities, motivations, values, short-term goals and longer-term aspirations that are unique to them. If you need guidance or additional support navigating your career, we encourage you to join the program as a mentee.
If you know someone living and working in rural or regional Queensland who wants to connect with other STEM women from across Queensland and would be interested in participating as a mentee, please share this page with them and encourage them to apply.
The Women in Technology Virtual Mentoring Program is proudly supported by the Queensland Government Office for WomenÂ
